Money to Waste
This is a Prada shoe. It apparently costs $US 384.00. It’s sold on Overstock.com for a steal at $299.99.
Who, in their right mind, would buy a this shoe for nearly $400? I’m sure I could go to Payless and buy a shoe that looks exactly like this one. This shoe would probably be 5% of Prada’s selling price. The Prada shoe is ugly anyway! I can’t believe some people have money to waste on things like this. I can (almost) understand why people pay extraordinary amounts for other items of clothing/accessories that may have more expensive materials, detailing, etc. – but this sandal? Beyond me.
By the way, I love Overstock.com – it’s an online outlet, and is marvelous. The only drawback: they only ship to the USA. But now that Kenny’s over the border, it’s no problem for me

Like, Go Away
I have long since been on a mini-campaign to eradicate improper use of the word “like” from my vocabulary. I was at a meeting tonight with some university students, and some of them were sharing some stories. Not one student was able to make a comment without using the word “like.” Someone even said “like” 13 times in the span of 30 seconds.
At times, I am guilty of overusing the word – but thank goodness it’s not usually when I’m not talking in an important setting (I hope). Anyway, I’ve decided to do something about it. Utilizing my frugal nature, I’ve decided that every time anyone, myself included, catches me saying “like,” I’m going to put 25ยข into a jar. After every 4 months or so, I’m going to empty that jar and donate it to a charity (I’ll take suggestions!).
My worst nightmare is to turn into one of those adults that says like all of the time. Ok, so I exaggerate, but you get my point.
So, if anyone is reading this, please let me know when I let this stupid word slip!
